Hi everyone,
Welcome to the start of 2019.
Like everyone, I have planned a whole heap of things I want to achieve this year both in my own life and for Sew Unique Fabrics. If you are reading this on our website then I have starting the year by ticking off one of the things I planned to do this year. The trick will be thinking of something to write about and finding the time to keep the blog up to date. When I started Sew Unique Fabrics I didn’t really aim to create a business but more to create an outlet for me to talk to other people who are as passionate as me about sewing. I wanted to be different from what was already out there because I often found other places were just run as a business with no eye for detail, love for customers or customer service. I’m hoping if you have ordered from us or asked a question in our sewing group this passion shines through!
What I didn’t anticipate was just how much time it takes to be different. Perhaps that is why the others are different. Which is why creating a blog has taken a couple of years for me to get around to. Well, that’s what I’m telling myself and it has nothing to do with trawling Facebook late at night or sewing (and unpicking!) when I should be writing.
This year we’ve achieved a few things which I’d like to briefly touch on below;
What we introduced in 2018
What we have planned for the blog
We have lots more planned this year including many of the things our customers have asked for. If you have something to add to our 2019 to do list please leave a comment below.
Which brings us to what this blog page is about. Is it a cop out to say that is up to our customers? At the moment we have the following categories
– Sew Unique News
Updates about new products and our existing range. If you want to know what is going on with SUF you can find out about it here
– Sewing Tips
Tips, tricks and hacks to show you how different people go about sewing with our products
– Fabric Talk
Posts discussing our fabric including how to look after it and what thread and co-ordinates match with what
Not that the list is conclusive. In fact, we’re hoping we will get people asking to post on something that interests them. If you would like to guest post on the blog (even if it is a humble brag!) please get in touch or leave a comment below. It would be a great way to promote your business if you sew handmade and we would be happy to include a link to your page.
We would also like to share photos or videos of what you create each month so please let us know if you’d like a shout out.
That’s it for our very first blog post…not so bad after all. If you haven’t seen a blog post in a couple of weeks make sure to contact us to give us a poke to post again.
