The Fabric
Sew Unique Fabrics cotton lycra is soft to touch and comfortable to wear. It has a really awesome amount of stretch and elastic recovery making it perfect for leggings, tops, dresses and cuffs. It’s especially good for children’s clothing as it’s durable.
Pattern
When I saw the Princess Unicorn SUM it was the perfect match for the Goober Pea Design Sugar Pea. This dress is a simple and beautiful sew with plenty of options available for wearing in the cooler and warmer weather. A size 5 as pictured used up the majority of the 1m SUM with the addition of a bit of faux glitter fabric to glitz it up.

Pre-washing is not essential but recommended
- Pre wash in cold water on a gentle cycle
- Add a tablespooon of salt to the wash – this helps seal the colour within the fabric thus reducing fading.
- Add 1/2 cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle. the liquid will freshen up your laundry and help colours maintain their intensity.
- Dryer use is not recommended – as the heat will eventually cause fabrics to fade.
- Line dry without delay – inside out, away from direct sunlight
Shrinkrage rate is approximately 3-5%. All fabric has been preshrunk, however additional shrinkage may occur.
